What is an HIS license?

HIS = Home Improvement Salesperson

What do I need to do?

Reps new to the state of CT must 1) Submit for a license and 2) Submit license info when approved.

Existing reps in CT wishing to conduct business on Palmetto's platform must 1) Submit for a change of contractor form and 2) Submit approval info when approved.

How long does it take?

Depending on the turnaround times from the state, most members can complete all paperwork and activate their account for CT sales within 1-2 weeks or less.

Do I ever need to renew my license?

Yes, see the renewal process below. Licenses expire annually on March 31st.

Member requests Form A: change of contract form

This form allows the state to validate your HIS license to Palmetto's license in the state.

Member receives and completes the Docusign form

Typically sent within 48-72 hours of the request.

Palmetto Countersigns

Palmetto will countersign the Docusign form

Member needs to submit via the CT state licensing website by creating an account. They can also renew their CT HIS license via this same account, on or around March 31st of every year.

  • Need a credit or debit card to pay the fee

  • Make sure you set up your account first in order to pay and get your license submitted

Once approved, the state will issue an approval notice to the member. Member must upload approval proof via the link below. It will come as an email used for your account.

  • Photo or scan is okay.

  • Typical turnaround from the state to issue approval: 4-7 business days.

When approval proof has been submitted, Palmetto will activate your Alchemy portal account to enable sales in the state.

  • Typical Palmetto turnaround time: 1-2 biz days.

  • Members will not be able to issue contracts until your license is enabled in the state.

Note: Connecticut has recently updated its laws surrounding renewal. Annual license expirations happen on March 31st.
