Illinois Mandatory Compliance Requirements B - Individual Sales Rep Certification & ID Number

Details on mandatory requirements to maintain compliance in Illinois and maintain Alchemy Access:

The state of Illinois and Carbon Solutions Group has stringent requirements for compliance. All sales reps working in Illinois are required, without exception, to strictly adhere to marketing and compliance standards.

The below are minimum requirements to maintain active status with the program and maintain your Alchemy access in Illinois. Palmetto holds a zero-tolerance policy for violators-- breach of compliance constitutes immediate removal of ID # and Alchemy access. Members who bypass compliance processes and sell in Illinois will have their deals rejected, and full access revoked without exception.

PLEASE NOTE: These requirements must be completed by all individual sales reps. All company owners must also complete compliance requirements PART A for their company.

2) Print Materials	Download and print the IL shines brochure below. When you receive an ID number, print your ID badge
3) Exam	Review exam materials and complete online exam Study and prep time is highly recommended
4) Submission	Submit all requirements for Palmetto to review using the link and instructions below
5) Receive ID Number	Upon successful submission & review, Palmetto will issue your ID number. The ID number will be activated on your Alchemy account within 1-2 business days or less. Once done, you're ready to sell.

B) National Criminal Background Check

Order and complete the National Criminal Background check online
Take a screenshot or photo of the receipt. Palmetto does not require check results themselves, only the receipt confirmation.
Cost ($19.95 as of 2024) is the responsibility of the sales member or sales organization

A) Illinois Shines Brochure Download	Copy of brochure must be presented to the client at all appointments (or emailed to client in instances of virtual appointments) Click here for English and here for the Spanish version Scroll down to the Informational Brochure section and download a copy of the English and/or Spanish version of the DG Brochure
B) ID Badge	Must be worn during all appointments (including virtual) Members are required to have ID badges created at their or their company's expense. Must have: Individuals full name, photo, company name/logo, and ID Number (assigned after successful compliance certification) Sample below

A) Reference and study material	Click here to review exam materials. Click here to review market resources Members have only two attempts to gain certification, therefore study time is recommended.
B) Exam	Click here to access the exam. Login to Palmetto Academy using your same Alchemy portal credentials. Score (100%) to pass. Users have two chances to pass. Please budget at least 15 minutes for the final exam. Study time is highly recommended.

Once all compliance items are completed, submit results and request an ID number via the below link. Palmetto reviews submissions on a weekly basis.

Upon successful certification, Palmetto will provide each member with a unique ID number in order to finalize your ID badge and begin selling.

a) Is Palmetto an Approved Vendor?

-- No, Palmetto is not. Palmetto is an approved referrer, of CSG. Carbon Solutions Group is the approved vendor.

b) Does ComEd or Ameren run the background checks?

No, background checks, ID numbers, and all other materials have nothing to do with the utility. The Utility has nothing to do with the sales process at all. Do not invoke ComEd or Ameren in any marketing materials, sales, or otherwise related materials.

c) Do I have to present homeowners with the Illinois Shines brochure at first in-person contact?

-- Yes, this is required, without exception, for all appointments. A print copy can be presented, or via full PDF follow-up in an email (note: this means a hard PDF copy, not a link).

d) Is Palmetto a certified installer?

-- Yes. Certified Installer DG # is 18-1181.

e) Which background check do I complete?

-- Complete the standard National Criminal Background check, as an individual. This is the primary check featured prominently on the Sentrylink site.

f) How long does it take to get an ID Badge Number once compliant?

-- Palmetto will typically provide ID Badges within 1-2 business days.
