At Palmetto, we strive for operational excellence to uphold our positive brand reputation and customer experience. To achieve this, we concentrate our efforts on markets where we can make the most significant impact.

After careful evaluation and with our focus on faster timelines and operating density in mind, we have decided to pause a short list of service areas in Palmetto’s footprint. Starting on the effective dates below, we will no longer accept new contacts or lead creation in the service areas listed below. We may consider reopening these markets in the future as business conditions allow. In fact, in October, we re-opened 4 of these markets after completing our due diligence to fill any previous sales and operational gaps to ensure customers receive the best experience possible.

If you have an existing project in the pipeline in a closed market, that opportunity will be grandfathered in, with a few exceptions. Our operations team will do their best to fulfill each of the projects, but will evaluate each opportunity on a case by case basis, and will create a plan for any projects where the customer experience is at risk.

FAQs

How does this help customers?

Focusing Palmetto’s resources on a priority set of markets will improve timelines for our customers, allowing them to activate their systems and receive the benefits of going solar more quickly

How does this help me as a sales partner?

As we strive for operational excellence, this will allow our sales partners to be paid more quickly as we hit payment milestones with improved velocity, and provide clarity that helps our partners seamlessly manage their business with Palmetto.

Why is Palmetto pausing these markets?

We are focused on operational excellence, in order for us to scale our business we need to focus on markets where we can make the largest impact. As we continue to make operational improvements we’ll be able to improve timelines, create better customer and partner experiences and properly prepare our business for the next phase of growth.

What factors would need to change for these markets to be re-opened?

We will review re-opening these markets once we believe that the customer experience can be superior and that the market conditions are becoming more solar-friendly. This will require careful consideration across many variables, including the consumer demand, build supply and other regulatory/market driven forces such as local jurisdiction and utility interconnection processes.

What is the difference between Exclusion Zones and Service Area Adjustments

Exclusion Zones are jurisdictions where conditions to fulfill & install solar are overly prohibitive and/or are geographically remote areas within serviceable states + utilities. These are areas that Palmetto simply cannot execute, service or fulfill to acceptable customer and partner standards, based on market conditions.

Service Area Adjustments are a number of service areas that we are pausing allowing us to focus operations on the core set of markets partners can be successful in. Service Area Adjustments may include pausing markets, and adding these to the Exclusion Zones list.
