This article reviews the Utility API option available within select markets, which allows a homeowner to log in to their online utility account to gather their bill & electricity consumption history, directly from their provider.
FEATURE BENEFITS & USES:
When available, this feature allows you to automatically collect utility information by having the homeowner log in to their online utility account
Homeowner's can log in directly from the sales platform, or they can have a link sent to their email for them to log in from their own phone/device
Using this feature, instead of manually uploading the bill, helps us generate the most accurate system design and saving estimations
Automatically collecting this information leads to a speedy contract approval process when returning the Final Proposal
The option to automatically collect this information is only available in select markets & utilities. If you see it as an option - take advantage!
If this feature is not available or you can't log in to the homeowner's online account, proceed to manually enter the Electricity Consumption History & upload a copy of the homeowner's utility bill.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & RESOURCES:
The utility bill is a required document for every solar project
When uploading the bill, make sure the name matches the contact name entered
