If your Palmetto dashboard shows your system as offline or isn't displaying recent production data, it may be a communication issue — not a production issue. Your inverter could still be generating energy while being disconnected from the internet.
Common causes include:
A recent Wi-Fi password change
A new router or modem
A switch to a new internet service provider
Weak or lost cellular signal (for inverters using cellular communication)
Follow the steps below for your inverter type.
SolarEdge
Your SolarEdge inverter connects to monitoring servers via your home Wi-Fi or a cellular signal. If communication has dropped, you can reconnect it through the mySolarEdge app.
Download or open the mySolarEdge app (you'll need portal access — contact Palmetto if you haven't received it).
Tap the three bars (☰) icon at the top of the screen.
Tap "Inverter Communication" from the menu.
Follow the in-app prompts to connect to the inverter's Wi-Fi network.
Once connected, tap "Configure" next to your Wi-Fi status (it will show "disconnected").
Select your home Wi-Fi network, enter your password, and tap "Join."
To confirm success, go back to "Inverter Communication" and verify the status shows S_OK. This means communication with SolarEdge's monitoring server has been restored.
Need portal access? Contact Palmetto support and we can grant you access to the mySolarEdge app.
Enphase
Your Enphase system communicates through the IQ Gateway (Envoy). If it's showing offline, follow these steps to reconnect it to your home Wi-Fi.
Step 1: Enable AP Mode on your Gateway
Briefly press and release (do not hold) the AP mode button on your Gateway.
The second LED (next to the phone icon) should turn solid green, confirming AP mode is active.
Do not hold the button — a long press activates WPS mode instead. If that happens, wait two minutes for it to time out, then try again.
Step 2: Connect your phone to the Gateway
In your phone's Wi-Fi settings, connect to the network named Envoy_XXXXXX (where XXXXXX = the last 6 digits of your Gateway's serial number).
Open a browser and go to 172.30.1.1
Step 3: Forget the old network (if applicable)
On the Gateway Configuration page, tap Wi-Fi under the Monitoring section.
Log in with username envoy and password = last 6 digits of your Gateway serial number.
Tap More Info → Forget this Network → Forget.
Skip this step if the Gateway isn't currently connected to any network.
Step 4: Connect to your new network
Tap View Networks, select your home Wi-Fi, enter your password, and tap Connect.
If successful, the top LED (cloud icon) will turn solid green — you're back online.
Still offline after following these steps?
