Your Palmetto solar energy system is highly efficient and typically requires little to no maintenance. It is best practice to keep an eye on your system regularly, so you notice any changes in efficiency.
As a Palmetto customer, you can easily monitor your system performance on your solar dashboard, available in your Palmetto account or the Palmetto App. If you notice a dramatic change in system performance, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your system before you contact support. In most cases, issues can be resolved with a simple system reset.
How to Identify Issues
To monitor your system performance, log in to your Palmetto account and select the Dashboard, where you can track production by day, week, and month. This will help you identify any potential issues with the system.
While solar energy systems rarely go offline on their own, certain scenarios can cause your system to shut down or underperform, such as power outages or grid failures. If you notice a dramatic change in system performance, such as a sudden lack of production or a significant drop from typical levels, it's time to investigate further.
Critical Alerts
Dashboard Display Issues
If your Palmetto dashboard is not displaying project status or production data, it may be due to pending activation, incomplete documentation, or delays in system updates. Follow the steps below to resolve these issues:
Check Activation Status: Verify whether your project has been activated in Palmetto’s system. If not, follow up with your installer to ensure all required documentation has been submitted.
Allow Time for Updates: After activation, give the system some time to update and reflect the monitoring data on your dashboard.
Contact Support if Needed: If the issue persists despite activation and documentation being in place, reach out to Palmetto’s customer support for further assistance.
Sometimes, your Palmetto system might display a "Critical Alert" on your solar dashboard or within the Palmetto App. These alerts are designed to inform you about issues that could be impacting your system's performance. Critical alerts may be triggered by factors such as hardware malfunctions, software issues, or external conditions like severe weather that disrupt normal operation. In cases of prolonged downtime or significant performance issues, a case will be created and assigned to a specialist for investigation.
When you see a Critical Alert:
Try resetting your solar energy system.
After completing the system reset, allow up to 24 hours for any changes to be reflected on your dashboard.
If the Critical Alert is still present after 24 hours, please let us know. We can help you understand the alert and guide you through the next steps, which may include requesting service.
Do not attempt to troubleshoot or repair components yourself beyond the recommended reset procedure.
How to Reset your System
SolarEdge
SolarEdge
Step 1: Turn Off Your Inverter
Your SolarEdge inverter is a small white box labeled "SolarEdge." It's usually located next to your electrical panel, your meter, or your AC disconnect.
Turn the black circular switch clockwise to the OFF position.
If you have more than one inverter: You likely have a subpanel nearby. Locate it and flip all breakers to the OFF position.
Step 2: Turn Off Your AC Disconnect
Your AC Disconnect is typically a small metal box on the outside of your home, next to your electricity meter. It should have a red sticker that reads "AC Disconnect" or "Photovoltaic System AC Disconnect."
Step 3: Reset Your Solar Breaker
Locate your main electrical panel or breaker box — usually a grey panel in a low-traffic area like your basement, garage, utility closet, or outside.
Open the cover and find the breaker labeled "PV Solar Breaker" (look for a red sticker).
Flip the breaker to OFF, hold for about 30 seconds, then flip it back to ON.
Don't see a PV Solar Breaker? That's okay — skip ahead to Step 4.
Step 4: Turn Your AC Disconnect Back On
Lift all switches or handles to the ON position.
This allows electricity to flow between your inverter and the grid.
Step 5: Turn Your Inverter Back On
If you have more than one inverter: Go to the subpanel and flip all breakers back to the ON position.
Turn the black circular switch clockwise to the ON position.
Find the small red toggle on the bottom of each inverter. Move it to the far left ("P" position), then release it — it should settle in the center "1" position, which means it's ON.
The inverter may take a few minutes to fully start up. Once it's ready, the LED lights will show solid Green and Blue.

Step 1: Turn Off Your IQ Combiner Breakers
Your Enphase IQ Combiner is a small grey box labeled "Enphase." It's usually located next to your electrical panel, your meter, or your AC disconnect.
Open the IQ Combiner box and flip all breakers away from the center. There may be 2 to 5 breakers inside.
Step 2: Turn Off Your AC Disconnect
Your AC Disconnect is typically a small metal box on the outside of your home, next to your electricity meter. Look for a red sticker that reads "AC Disconnect" or "Photovoltaic System AC Disconnect."
Lift all switches or handles to the OFF position.
Flip it to OFF, hold for a moment, then flip it back to ON.
Don't see a PV Solar Breaker? That's okay — skip ahead to Step 4.
Step 4: Turn Your AC Disconnect Back On
Lift all switches or handles to the ON position.
This allows electricity to flow between your inverter and the grid.
Step 5: Turn Your IQ Combiner Breakers Back On
Flip all breakers back to the center position.
The system may take a few minutes to come back online. When the IQ Combiner/Envoy has reconnected successfully, the leftmost LED light will turn solid green.
The green lights mean your system is active — but it takes a few days to fully confirm. If the restart was successful, production data will begin appearing in your app within 1–3 days.

Safety Precaution: Always perform resets during daylight hours for optimal results.
How to Know if the Reset was Successful
After a system reset, it can take up to 24 hours for new production data to appear on your Palmetto account or Palmetto App dashboard. New data is the best indicator of a successful reset.
Frequently Asked Questions
Could external factors like weather cause system disruptions?
Yes, thunderstorms or other severe weather conditions might temporarily impact your solar system. While these events cannot be confirmed as the specific cause remotely, performing a system reset after such events can typically restore normal functionality.
How long does system activation usually take?
System activation times vary depending on the timely submission and approval of required documentation. If you experience delays in this process, contact our Customer Experience team for accelerated support.
What if a system reset doesn't work?
If you’ve completed the steps above and do not see production data after 24 hours, or if your new production data is significantly lower than expected, you may require additional maintenance services. Please request service below.
