If the Customer's Permission to Operate/Interconnection date is < 1 year from today's date there is generally no charge for on-site service.

"Per your contract the first year of service is free so you should not expect a charge for the service visit. If our technician discovers something that our contract does not cover we will let you know the costs involved prior to performing any work."

If the Customer's Permission to Operate date is > 1 year from today's date then there is a charge for on-site service.

"You're in year X of your contract so you should expect a charge in association with this service visit. Initial troubleshooting visits cost around $350 to understand the scope of the repair. If the repair cannot be completed in the initial site visit we will let you know the costs involved prior to performing any additional work to get your system operating."

Exceptions:

There will always be a charge for service visits if the root cause is excluded by Palmetto's contract.

Examples include fire, flood, tornados, or pest damage.

A service fee will be waived if the root cause for the service visit is due to:

  • Poor workmanship and 10-year workmanship warranty have NOT expired.

    • Example: Water enters inverter DC disconnect through AC or DC conduit.

  • Failed roof penetrations and 5-year roof penetration warranty have NOT expired.

    • Example: Water enters through the penetrations made to secure the system.
