We are here to protect our customer's investments in Clean Energy. Palmetto has partnered with Omnidian for our Performance plan to make sure our customer's systems run at peak efficiency while giving them peace of mind.

Cash and Loan

Palmetto Protect Performance powered by Omnidian is the default plan for all new customers.

  • Palmetto Protect Performance powered by Omnidian provides customers with proactive monitoring, intelligent issue detection, 5-star service and support, a 95% Performance Guarantee, and labor coverage giving them peace of mind that their investment in solar is protected.

  • Only available for new customers

  • This package can be downgraded to Palmetto Protect Essentials

  • With Palmetto Protect Essentials, customers get proactive monitoring of their solar system’s performance and intelligent issue detection, service, and support when needed, and peace of mind that their investment in solar is protected.

Palmetto Protect Performance is the default plan for all LightReach Energy Plan customers.

  • Palmetto Protect Performance provides customers with proactive monitoring, intelligent issue detection, 5-star service and support, a Performance Guarantee, and labor coverage, giving them peace of mind that their investment in solar is protected.

The top 5 issues that we solve with covered field service visits for assets under our Performance plan are:

Palmetto Protect Performance (cash and loan) offers a 95% Performance Guarantee and parts and labor coverage.

Labor is covered under the Omnidian Performance Plan for the following:

  • Diagnostic visits for issues not already determined to be a non-covered service or repair

  • Service visits related to the repair and replacement of parts under the manufacturer’s warranty

  • Service for breaker/fuse replacements that result from normal wear and tear

Labor is NOT covered under the Omnidian Performance Plan for the following:

  • Service visits for modules, inverters, or monitoring systems that are not covered by a manufacturer’s warranty or third-party warranty

  • Service visits for critter remediation

  • Service visits for Force Majeure / weather damage

  • Service visits for roof repair

  • Service visits for removal and reinstallation of the solar system

  • Service visits for issues that existed before the contract start date

  • Service visits for issues resulting from work done by parties other than Omnidian or its approved Field Service Technicians

How does the Performance Guarantee work?

Palmetto Protect Performance powered by Omnidian (cash and loan) Guarantee gives customers clear, transparent confidence that they will achieve monthly savings.

  • Annual reimbursement in the event of underperformance below 95% of verified estimates

  • Palmetto reviews actual production at the end of the first year

  • Reimbursement for the difference is paid out as cash, not a credit.

  • If a customer is not producing what they should, Omnidian will get to the bottom of the problem

  • Covers weather, underperformance, and downtime for repairs

  • Exclusions

    • Excludes downtime where a customer is not taking action on proactive monitoring alert

    • Excludes system re-designs at installation; calculation would be made based on the new change order system

Omnidian will conduct a Performance Verification Test to verify that your system is operating as expected and to verify the energy output of your system. Once the test is complete, your 95% Performance Guarantee is active. You will receive quarterly performance reports from Omnidian that track your system’s actual energy output against the verified expected energy output. At the end of your plan year, if your actual energy is less than 95% of the expected energy, you will receive a check to cover the shortfall. Your refund rate will vary based on your state and the energy prices in your area; the exact ¢/kWh refund rate is on page one of your Performance Services Agreement with Omnidian.

Could you tell me about the parts and labor coverage that is a part of Palmetto Protect Performance powered by Omnidian?

It covers unexpected maintenance and repair needs.

  • Labor costs are covered for troubleshooting and repair

  • Customer-owned, service contract

  • No-fee ownership transfer

  • Examples

    • Inverter error and failure

    • General onsite troubleshooting

    • Rare but occasional system damage

    • Any other issues not covered by the workmanship warranty

Weather-related reimbursements - does the customer need to report, or will they be proactively monitored?

Omnidian will proactively monitor the system; the customer will not need to report this. The reimbursement is based on overall yearly production, not just one event. For example, if snow covers the panels and the system is not producing, Omnidian will monitor that and alert the customer.

How is workmanship defined?

The quality of work done when installing solar panels; does not include future labor costs. Palmetto Protect Performance powered by Omnidian labor coverage will cover unexpected maintenance and repairs. *Exclusions may apply; the customer may incur service visit fees depending on the service case reason

Can I upgrade from Palmetto Protect Essentials to Palmetto Protect Performance powered by Omnidian?

No, unfortunately not. Palmetto Protect Performance powered by Omnidian is only available to new solar installations.

I had the Standard/Premium plan, not Essentials; what about the other benefits I had with that plan?

These customers will remain on their plans through the life of the plan (1-3 years). At the end of that time, they will be notified that their current plan is no longer available and will be offered a new Palmetto Protect plan.

How will I know if my system is not working correctly?

The Palmetto and Omnidian teams know solar systems. The technology monitors your system and remotely diagnoses issues. If a problem needs attention, a solar expert will contact you—and get to work to make it right.

When an issue is detected and does require action, we can contact you for targeted remote troubleshooting before scheduling a service visit.

  • 73% of service support calls are outbound

  • 92% of issues are proactively identified

  • 55% of issues are resolved with automated communications and troubleshooting tools.

With your Palmetto account, you can track your system performance by day, week, or month.

How long does my Palmetto Protect Essentials coverage last? (for customers in the West upgraded to Palmetto Protect Essentials (Omnidian))

We are rolling out this service to Palmetto customers at no additional cost through the end of 2023 or until the end of your prepaid term if it extends beyond 2023—at a value of $96 per year of coverage. At the end of 2023 (or the end of your prepaid term), you can continue with the Palmetto Protect Essentials plan available through your customer account (mobile app or palmetto.com).

What does a workmanship warranty cover?

A workmanship warranty covers issues that arise as a result of the work done during installation. It does not cover future costs that arise from new problems that can occur over time.

Why do you only cover five years for roof penetration(for cash and loan) when other companies cover it longer?

Typically, if there is going to be an issue with the roof resulting from the solar installation, it will be discovered within the first couple of years.

How do I get to my Palmetto account?

  • As a new customer or ambassador, you should receive a welcome email with instructions on activating your account and accessing the Palmetto App.

  • If you have not received that email at the address you provided to Palmetto, go to home.palmetto.com and click ‘Don’t remember your password?’ to request a new invitation.
