Issues with your Generac solar system can often be resolved with a full system restart. Please follow each step carefully and in order. You will need to be able to access your inverter and for it to be daylight outside to verify if rebooting your system worked.
Step 1: Safety Check
Before touching anything, please confirm the following:
✅ Your AC and DC breakers are accessible.
✅ Your hands and any tools are completely dry.
✅ There are no exposed wires visible near the equipment.
Step 2: Turn Off the Battery DC Disconnect
Locate the Battery Disconnect Switch on your battery enclosure.
Slide it to the OFF position.
Step 3: Shut Down the Inverter
On the inverter's control panel, press "Shutdown."
Wait until the display confirms that the inverter is off before moving on.
Step 4: Wait 30–60 Seconds
This allows any residual voltage to safely dissipate before you restart the system and ensures all capacitors discharge safely.
Step 5: Restart the System
Slide the Battery Disconnect Switch back to ON.
Power the inverter back on using the control panel.
Wait for the system to report normal operation before proceeding.
Step 6: Confirm Everything is Working
✅ Check that the LED lights or display show normal operation.
✅ If your solar panels are connected, verify that energy is flowing as expected.
✅ Note any warning messages or fault codes you see.

Only qualified personnel should access internal components.
These steps are for troubleshooting and system resets — not routine daily use.
Always use external breakers and disconnects when possible to avoid exposure to high voltage.
