Standby Generator Leasing

Standby generators are expensive. A full system, installed and ready to go, typically runs $15,000 to $20,000 or more. That's a lot of money upfront for something you hope you'll never need — but really want when you do.

The Palmetto generator leasing gives you another option. Instead of buying the system outright, you get it installed for $0 down and pay one fixed monthly amount that covers everything: the equipment, installation, maintenance, and repairs for the full 10 years. No surprises.

What's included

Your monthly payment covers the full cost of owning and running the system. Here's what that means in practice:

Installation

A licensed local contractor handles the full install. You don't coordinate anything separately.

Parts coverage

If something breaks, the part is covered. All of it, for 10 years.

Service and repairs

Labor to fix problems is included too. You won't get a bill after a service visit.

Annual preventative maintenance

Once a year, we schedule a tune-up — oil, filters, battery check, the works. Your generator stays in good shape without you having to think about it.

Remote monitoring

Your system connects to Mobile Link, Generac's monitoring platform, so you (and we) can keep an eye on it.

Warranty registration

We handle registration with the manufacturer at the time of installation. That's one less thing on your to-do list.

How it compares to buying outright or taking out a loan

Here's a look at a $17,000 example system over 10 years:

The monthly payments are similar to a loan. The difference is that the lease includes everything else. With a loan or cash purchase, maintenance, repairs, and warranty costs come out of your pocket as they happen.

How the lease works

Lease term

The standard term is 10 years.

Monthly payment

Your payment is fixed and all-in. Depending on the system size and fuel type, you can choose between no annual increase or a small escalator (0.99% or 1.99% per year).

Ownership structure

This is a lease, not a loan. Palmetto owns the equipment. You get the full benefit of the system, and we stay responsible for keeping it running.

What happens at installation

Your installer submits a completion package once the system is up and running. That includes:

  • Photos of the equipment and installation

  • Commissioning test results

  • Serial number and equipment details for warranty registration

  • Confirmation that remote monitoring is active

Your first billing cycle starts at installation.

Frequently asked questions

Is there anything I need to do upfront?

  • No. There's no down payment and nothing to arrange before installation. Your installer handles the whole process through the Palmetto portal.

What if something breaks?

  • Parts and labor are covered for the full 10-year term. Contact us or your installing contractor, and we'll get it handled.

Does the generator need regular maintenance?

  • Yes, and that's included. We schedule annual preventative maintenance with a local service provider. You don't need to track it down yourself.

Can I bundle this with solar or another product?

  • Ask your installer about bundling options. Solar plus generator combinations are something we actively support.

What if I sell my home?

  • If your situation changes, please let us know. We can walk you through your options.
